The purpose of this assessment is to conduct a self-case analysis on your career development plan.

Task Details

In this assessment, you are required to actively manage your own career path by deeply reflecting on your desired job, career, or industry. The task requires you to address the following questions in an essay/report format:

Where am I now?

An assessment and analysis of your current personal values. You can use self-assessment surveys like NEW VALUE SORT for Career Ready Values Sort, VIA Survey, or Free Career Quiz - Holland Code Job Aptitude Test (truity.com). You may also use other interesting survey assessments. The survey results must be attached as evidence in the Appendix section to support your analysis.

An assessment and analysis of your current knowledge, skills, abilities, and other qualifications compared to those required for your desired job/position. This requires finding a position description and then conducting a gap analysis.

Plan of Actions

How am I going to get there?

Outline three (3) strategies (plan of actions) to help you achieve your career goals and overcome the gaps identified in Section 2. These strategies can be specific if your career goals are clear, or general if they are not yet clear. The aim is to discuss ways to pursue a career consistent with your lifestyle goals and values.

Your essay/report should have the following structure:

• Conclusion
• Reference List

You must consult and reference a minimum of five (5) academic resources (i.e., journal articles, books, book chapters, etc.) to support your analysis in Sections 2, 3, and 4. Use APA7 referencing style. The total length of the assessment is a maximum of 1,500 words (+/- 10%), excluding the reference list and title page.

The document should be written as a clear, concise report with a logical flow and good structure. Use relevant subheadings where appropriate, and write using coherent, integrated text, avoiding grammatical and spelling mistakes. For reading and marking ease, use a 12-point Calibri font with 1.5x spacing. Submit your assignment in Word document format. You are advised to consult the grading rubric before commencing your assessment piece.
