6234 Economics for Managers

The graduate-level course Economics for Managers examines the economic theories and principles necessary for understanding modern economic issues and economic policy analysis. Both macroeconomics and microeconomics are covered in the course programme. We investigate the fundamentals of microeconomics, such as the theory of market systems and the price mechanism, the theory of consumer demand, resource allocation, and the theory of the company with a focus on production and cost analysis concepts. The macroeconomics component looks at how the key economic variables interact. Examined in relation to the economic issues of unemployment, inflation, and sluggish economic growth are microeconomic reform and fiscal and monetary policy initiatives.
