Assessment 2: Knowledge Questioning

1. To determine the alignment of current strategic plans with the organisational goals, a strategic analysis may be conducted. The strategic analysis can be conducted by using the SWOT tool to understand if the current strengths and weaknesses of the organisation can ensure that the organisation is on the right path to achieve its goals.

2. To determine the culture of an organisation, there is a need for consultation with key stakeholders regarding vision, control system, organisational structure, power structure, symbols, rituals and routines, stories and myths, and uptake of change.

3. There are five key organisational development change process roles:

• Change Management Resource Team: responsible for designing and implementing the change management
• Senior Management and Executives: responsible for providing guiding support to the change management process
• Supervisors and Middle Management: responsible to address any resistance shown by the employees
• Project Team Leaders: responsible for designing the change management for execution
• Project Support Personnel: responsible for providing executive support to change management.

4. There are 7 types of data that need to be collected to understand the areas where a business may experience a problem:

• Performance-related data and figures;
• Complaints that pertain to that area;
• Benchmarks or other departments performance that can be used as comparative data to demonstrate performance;
• Data related to why the area is underperforming;
• Human resources information on workers in those areas;
• Budgets; and
• Related legislation

5. Five activities can be used for deciding strategies and objectives:

• Planning meetings;
• Consultation;
• Brainstorming sessions;
• Strategic analysis of options; and
• Board meetings
