CREATING A PRODUCT / SERVICE

The value proposition of the model

The developed AI-driven model enhances the coffee shop’s value proposition by providing highly personalised, quick and precise order delivery according to every customer’s preference, hence improving efficiency and productivity. If the approach is customer-centred and personalised, there will be an improvement in customer satisfaction along with operational efficiency. Through this, employee will be able to focus more on various other critical aspects of the business, such as quality control and customer-brand engagement as the model is streamlining operations, reducing manual effort, and optimising workflow, driving sales and retention. The AI-implemented service recognises the regular customer and provides them with their preferred blend hence reducing the waiting duration.

Data Used for Training

The model developed by the software teachable machines was efficiently trained, where a comprehensive data set was collected via an image project. It consisted of images of customers with their specific coffee mugs. Every class contained approximately 200 images, captured through various angles and lighting conditions, to provide efficient model training within a fraction of minutes. There are diverse datasets provided as it is fundamental to improve the model's efficiency, reliability and accuracy to recognise individual customers and then their order.

Model and the Problem Solving

In the automated coffee shop, the execution begins as soon as the regular customer approaches the shop. There is a high-resolution camera that captures their image, and the trained AI model processes the image captured to identify the customer and proceed with their preferred coffee order. For example, if customer X, who always orders Frappuccino, is recognised by the model, the coffee machine that is also integrated with the AI model begins to automatically prepare the Frappuccino.  Moreover, a mobile application can be developed as it will enhance the customer experience by letting customers change their orders or receive real-time notification when their order is being prepared, which will further personalise the experience with the whole coffee establishment.  Through the app, the customer will be able to manage their profile and update their preferred coffee blend, cup sizes and payment method. The app can also provide suggestions to the customer based on their past orders or season specials. If the customer has the option to change the preparation and pick-up time of the order through the app, it does not have to be initiated after the customer has reached the shop. The app will store payment information for quick transactions and can provide loyalty rewards where customers can earn digital coins after purchases or avail discounts on blend options. While the app will be able to receive feedback directly from customers or report any issue.
