Purpose
Assessment 2 requires you to engage with the research in the area of wellbeing strategies and frameworks, that relates to your chosen case study. This assessment presents you with an opportunity to engage with wellbeing literature and to enhance your critical thinking, knowledge, and evaluation and analytical skills to make evidence-informed recommendations. This assessment is closely related to your work in Assessment 3.
Assessment criteria
This assessment will measure your ability to:
Locate and critically evaluate appropriate resources (40%)
Select and justify appropriate recommendations for immediate and long-term wellbeing solutions (40%)
Structure and communicate ideas appropriately (20%)
Please read Assessment 2 Rubric carefully and utilise this as a guide for your submission.
Task details
This task lays the foundation for your work in Assessment 3. In Assessment 3 you are asked to problem solve the details of the case studies of Ben and Liz (explored in Module 1) and debate recommendations to the school who are seeking to answer the following question:
What wellbeing strategies should be adopted by Ben or Liz’s school to monitor student wellbeing and engagement in the school?
Assessment 2 requires that you critically evaluate wellbeing literature to make justified recommendations for immediate and long-term strategies that promote student wellbeing.
Instructions
When preparing your response please include the following.
Introduction
Draw from the wellbeing literature to define wellbeing.
Discuss the current key issues in relation to wellbeing and schools, ensuring that you include the issues identified in the Ben and Liz case studies.
Formulate a statement that will identify the recommended wellbeing strategy or framework you will take to the teachers’ meeting.
Analysis
Identify peer-reviewed articles from research journals that address the key issues you have identified in relation to wellbeing and schools.
Identify wellbeing strategies and/or frameworks that address these issues.
Compare and contrast each researcher’s view about the chosen wellbeing strategy or framework.
Evaluation and recommendation:
Outline and justify your recommendations using research. Ensure that you address the following questions:
Which wellbeing strategy or framework do you recommend?
How does it address the issues identified in the Ben and Liz case studies?
How will it improve school responsiveness and relational agency within the school?
Why is it more favourable in this situation than in others?
Your submitted paper should consist of 2500 words (+/– 10%).

The reference list is not included in the word count. In-text citations are included in the word count.
Ensure that you use a range of relevant sources. A minimum of eight is required, with a suggested maximum of 16; however, you may use more. You may use the prescribed readings for some of your sources but should also demonstrate independent research by reflecting on and referencing a range of sources not included in the prescribed material.
Ensure that you are citing and referencing all ideas that are not your own. Your literature review must be your own original work prepared for this subject.
Make sure that your literature review is written with care. Organise your points logically. Include substantive, even if brief, introductory and concluding paragraphs. Pay attention to your grammar, spelling and choice of words.
