French and (NATIVE) Japanese Tutor (50+ scaled in both at VCE)

Hello! こんにちは！Bonjour!

My name is Hannah. I am a first year Uni student studying Law/Arts at Monash University. I graduated VCE in 2020 with an ATAR of 99.50. I have been tutoring both secondary school students and primary school students since 2018. I am a friendly and approachable tutor who will do everything to provide a comfortable and safe space for you to practice the language and reach your potential!

JAPANESE:
I am native Japanese and on top of my normal Australian schooling, I have been studying Japanese at the Melbourne International School of Japanese for 13 years. I lived in Japan for a couple of years, and therefore have cultural knowledge to offer too.

I completed VCE Japanese (Units 1 - 4) and achieved a score of 48 (raw) which scaled to 50+. I know the VCE study design (including the most up to date one) and VCE grammar in great detail. I understand the type of answer structures examiners are looking for in the written exam, where most students make mistakes, and how to keep in control of the conversation during the end of year oral exam!

FRENCH:
I completed VCE French in 2020 with a score of 47 (raw), scaling to 50+. I was a finalist in the French Berthe Mouchette Competition for both oral and written examinations. I am currently studying Proficient French at Monash University and am loving it. I also did an exchange at a school in France in 2019.

Having studied the language myself, I know how challenging it can be learning French. But I also know how rewarding the experience is and that it is very much achievable for all who are willing to give it a go! (And no you don't need a native background to succeed in French at school!) I understand areas of difficulties and confusion many learners encounter, and would love to share with you my tips to guide you through the language. I also have a big passion for French grammar, so you are guaranteed to get some insightful grammar tips!

TEACHING STYLE:
I am a flexible tutor who will adapt to your needs and level, whether you are a complete beginner or approaching VCE. Here is a list of help I can offer:
