5.4                Word limit penalties

Students must ensure that their written work is within the published word limit. The following penalty will be applied fc work that exceeds the published word limit:

• Excessive word limit penalties .11 be applied once an assessment exceeds the published word limit by 10,
• Once word lirnit penalties are applied, they will be calculated at 10% of the maximum possible marks per 10, over the published word limit.

5.5            Extensions and late submissions

5.5.1          Tutoring Extensions and late submissions

Students are required to submit assessment items on the due date so that marking can occur with feedback provided in a timely manner to support future learning.

Assessment work submitted after the due date without an approved extension of time will ordinarily attract a penalty (see below). Where special circumstances exist, an extension of time may be granted for submission of an assessment item without penalty.

In this unit, extensions and late submissions follow these requirements:

• Requests for an extension must be received, via the appropriate LMS link, at least 48 hours prior to the due date/time.
• Requests received less than 48 hours prior to the due date/time will only be consider. in exceptional
• Requests for an extension received more than 3 days after the due date/time WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
• Assessments submitted more than ten calendar days after the due date/time. without a valid extension. WILL NOT BE MARKED AND WILL BE AWARDED A GRADE OF ZERO.
• Late assessments will attract a late penalty of 10% of the maximum Possible mark for each Calendar (or part thereof).
• Failure to submit your assessment correctly, including uploading the wrong document, will RESULT IN A GRADE OF ZERO.
• Late penalties will be applied after a 24-hour grace Period.
