Tutoring Part A
For this assessment task, you will create a written technical report to explore one smart/automation system that has been applied to an industry or field. The purpose of this Tutoring is for you to develop your big-picture thinking, and to explore various impacts of the ever-changing IT industry.
Assessment Details
1. Search literature and real-world applications in your life environment, get to know one category of smart systems that have been applied in one of the following areas:
2. Discover via Step 1, one specific smart system/device of your interest. Note that the chosen system/device must include mobile and/or cloud components.
The following gives a list of example systems, on which a collection of literatures has been provided on Moodle as the references
3. Conduct system discovery (on the system from the viewpoint of system function, architecture, access control, and communication, respectively, and prepare a technical report in the following structure.
Students can include diagrams and tables to present your information in the report. Report should be maximum 3 pages and should include title, abstract, and reference.
Complete this work by 3rd September and then discuss with your lecturer and start working on Tutoring part B.
Tutoring Part B
In this second part of assessment, you will be required to conduct a system vulnerability investigation on the smart system you choose for part A of Tutoring and complete the whole technical report. The purpose of this Tutoring is for you to apply learning knowledge to real world applications, analyze the world application system in a way that generates valued insights, and think critically to seek solutions.
Assessment Details
1. Think of yourself as an examiner or auditor of the system from your Tutoring part A, and Identify open issues and limitations of the system by considering the following sample questions:
Are the assumptions reasonable and realistic?
Is the solution practical?
Any technical errors and limitations?
Any problems with the experiments?
Do the results support the claims?
Any way to improve the work?
How does the work relate to other topics previously covered in class?
2. Summarize all threats, vulnerability or weak points of the system into a table, complete the whole technical report by revising Tutoring part A report according to the feedback received from lecturer, and extending Tutoring part A report to be in the following structure:
